Dr. Phillip Desrochers is a Scientist at Charles River Analytics in Cambridge, MA. He received his Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a specialization in Cognitive and Motor Neuroscience at Michigan State University. His research spans several domains including cognitive and motor neuroscience, neurorehabilitation, neurophysiology, biomechanics, robotics, and data science. Dr. Desrochers’ work has been cited nearly 200 times in peer-reviewed journals. Prior to his work at Charles River, Phil studied the neurophysiological underpinnings of upper and lower limb sensorimotor control and coordination in healthy individuals and those with movement disorders. At Charles River, Phil has developed a portfolio of research and development programs and products to provide objective and automated neurological and musculoskeletal assessment and rehabilitation. He is currently the Principal Investigator on projects funded by the United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory, the Naval Health Research Center, and the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program. In these projects, he leads the development of cutting-edge technologies, including augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) and robotics, to evaluate and rehabilitate vestibular, oculomotor, postural, and biomechanical sequelae associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI), balance problems, and musculoskeletal injuries. These projects are highly applied and incorporate diverse research, development, and engineering approaches.
