Dr. Mark M. Derriso is currently serving as the Chief Engineer and Chief Data Officer for the 711th Human Performance Wing, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is the engineering technical authority for over 1,370 personnel, 70 occupational specialties and $350M+ in combined Science & Technology and Defense Health Program funding.

Dr. Derriso is responsible for providing technical oversight of human performance technology development to ensure successful product transition to customers and end users. Additionally, he is spearheading the organization digital engineering infrastructure development for implementing a data analytics and management ecosystems for human performance research and operations.

Dr. Derriso is also an accomplished researcher with 80+ technical publications in the areas of material/structural characterization, health monitoring systems, automatic controls, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and human performance. He is particularly experienced in creating innovative solutions using multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches requiring the integration of machines and human systems using advanced systems engineering principles and methodology. Dr. Derriso is a former college athlete, personal trainer, and football coach and has an A.A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Kentucky State University, a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Wright State University, a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
