George is the founder and CEO of Nextiles working on innovative materials for new soft-good sensor solutions. George studied at UC Berkeley where he received his Bachelor’s in Bioengineering and Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. He went on to complete his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering at MIT. While at MIT, George was recruited to lead Puma’s Embedded Engineering team where he applied his materials science knowledge with his electrical engineering expertise to optimize footwear products. George then formed Nextiles after being awarded several patents on the domain of fabric-based sensors. Since then, the company has been inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Material ConneXion, Made in New York, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The company now works with the NBA, MLB, international sports leagues, and several elite and college level institutions. Today, Nextiles creates elegantly designed flexible sensor solutions to quantify motion and provides machine learning algorithms to better quantify performance.
