Dr. Yanbing Tang

Dr. Yanbing Tang serves as the Associate Director of Research and Applied Science at National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (NSPARC), Mississippi State University.  She manages day-to-day data analytics activities in NSPARC, where regular analyses and reporting as well as advanced programming skills and algorithms are applied daily to meet clients’ needs and push forward the team’s capabilities. Researchers, scientists, and analysts collaborate with each other and have successfully accomplished numerous projects for agencies and stakeholders.

Dr. Tang’s training backgrounds are in Statistics and Geography. Her interest is to apply technical skills into the applications of various fields, such as healthcare, education, workforce and economic development, transportation, and social sciences. Besides her supervisor roles and responsibilities, Dr. Tang also conducts research and data science applications by employing statistical knowledge and programming languages so that data-driven information is derived.
