As a woman in the male-dominated field of Environmental Engineering, Alexis Moran works within Ingalls Shipbuilding’s Environmental, Health and Safety department and is also a fifth year NFL cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints. Moran has a passion for environmental stewardship and joined Ingalls after graduating from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an Environmental Engineering concentration. While attending MSU, Alexis was a three-year member of the MSU Pom Squad Dance Team. Currently, Moran works to promote sustainability in the shipbuilding process that leads to improved efficiency, minimal waste, and less environmental effects. In addition to helping improve the shipyard environment for employees, she is devoted to improving the health and wellbeing of employees with a focus on heat awareness, nutrition, hydration and fueling initiatives with the assistance of MSU’s Athlete Engineering team.
