Angie Huskison
Angie Huskison is the owner and founder of The Competitive Edge, a sports vision training performance facility in Columbus, MS. She has been dedicated to training, vision therapy, wellness and rehabilitation for twenty -seven years. While her undergraduate studies focused on speech pathology and audiology, her Master’s emphasis was on clinical recreational therapy. She completed her internship at Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center and obtained her certification as an aquatic therapist in 2000 through the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute.
Since 1999, Angie has partnered with Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) receiving numerous grants through the MDRS Spinal Cord Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund furthering her work with individuals that have experienced traumatic brain injuries. Angie served as director of a grant funded community re-entry program for adults with traumatic brain injury for nine years and later served as clinic director and vision therapist for Snider Therapy Centers for seventeen years. In the clinical setting, Angie has provided therapy for visual and multi-sensory dysfunctions that interfere with both academic and sports performance.
Angie opened The Competitive Edge in 2020. She specializes in sports vision performance training, and her primary focus is on dynamic visual skills. Areas of emphasis in training include eye teaming, accommodation, ocular motor, peripheral awareness, gaze stability, and central-peripheral integration. Her passion in training dynamic visual skills is to improve reaction time, depth perception, cognitive flexibility, visual processing speed and overall sports performance.
